Matt Vyner is immersed in the beauty of coastal British Columbia, living and creating on Bowen Island. Working primarily in acrylics, with a passion for ink stretching, Matt draws inspiration from the natural contrasts of his surroundings and his lifelong connection to skateboarding and snowboarding. The raw energy of city life, combined with the untamed beauty of BC’s backcountry, informs his vivid, abstract, and dream-like landscapes. His current work explores interactive portraits that invite viewers to engage with shifting emotions and states of being. Balancing realism with a bold, graphic style, Matt’s portraits echo his early influences from skateboard and snowboard art, bridging movement, emotion, and colour into a cohesive visual experience.
